Parent-School Communication   •   Strategies for Conflict Reduction

I believe that parents and schools have the same goal - to figure out a way to give children a good education in the best possible environment. Sometimes, however, the school's idea of how that can happen differs from the parent's expectation. It is important to each child's well-being that both parties figure out how to manage that partnership so that a cordial handshake is possible!

My many years of experience working with parents and educators in a school setting, have taught me that the chief cause of conflict between parents and the school is usually the struggle both parties have with finding the most effective ways in which to communicate their concerns.

For more information about my approach - and some tips - see my article. In addition, the strategies on this site might be helpful. And, ask me about other services I offer to parents and schools to improve home/school communication.

If you would like to schedule a preliminary consultation, are considering starting therapy or would like to arrange a free phone conference, please give me a call.

Telephone or in-person short-term consultation is also available to help school personnel or family members develop strategies that can enhance the effectiveness of home-school communication.
